About little bean's rescue

kittens // rescued

The namesake of a precocious little kitten whose time on this world was much too short, little bean's rescue is the child project of the 501(c)(3) non-profit Feral Freedom Northern California, focused on the rescue and adoption of kittens born in feral colonies, and friendly adults who have been abandoned.  We take in the most vulnerable, sick, and injured cats and kittens and work to give them a better life.

every life matters

At little bean's rescue every life matters. Every cat, kitten, senior, and neonate that comes to us is given a chance - no matter the ailment. We do not euthanize animals due to medical costs or perceived "un-adoptability," and will exhaust every option to give the animals in our care the best chance at recovery as possible.

the nursery // medical care

the heart of little bean's rescue is our kitten nursery - a nearly 500sq ft kitten wonderland where kittens can safely grow, learn, and play.

Aside from enrichment, the nursery is equipped with isolation areas and medical equipment for the hospitalization and care for intense medical cases - meaning we can care for the most vulnerable of kittens.

when the "return" of TNR isn't the answer

Trap-Neuter-Return and Return-To-Field is at the core of Feral Freedom Northern California - but sometimes the "return" part of the equation isn't in the cats best interest.

As many as 25% of cats that come into our RTF program from municipal shelters aren't actually feral. Some are friendly community cats with active caretakers and are quite happy to go back to their neighborhoods... but often times we find ourselves with cats who have been abandoned or dumped by their previous owners and are not thriving outdoors.

These cats leave the T.N.R pipeline and go to a rescue partner or enter little bean's rescue where they can have the chance to find a loving, forever home.
