This little bat-in-disguise was born in born in a feral-cat kennel at the Los Banos Animal Shelter on April 3rd, 2023, along with 4 brothers and a sister. Obviously, a feral kennel is no place for a baby so mom and kits hitched a ride over to little bean's and grew up happily in foster care.
Mac aka "Bat-ears-mcgee" is the king of trills here at the nursery and has A LOT to say, mostly in the form of little squeaks. Mac is a certified sweetie-pie and while he can be a little shy at first, once he gets settled in he will run over to you for pets and cuddles, enjoys being held and snuggled, and of course loves to play - like any other kitten!
Just as he reached adoptable age, Mac and his brother Cheese developed F.I.P - an illness caused by a genetic mutation. The treatment is 84 days long -- and Mac and Cheese have both made a complete recovery! F.I.P sounds scary - but treating it is one of little bean's specialties and Mac & Cheese received treatment at our vet-tech founder's nursery along with several other F.I.P kitties. Mac and Cheese have been through a lot together and are looking for a home where they can stay together forever <3
